For those that are trying to lose their weight, metabolism is something that’s very important for them. Why? It’s because metabolism holds the key for weight loss. In this post, I’m going to share how I increase my metabolism for weight loss with 3 easy and effective tips.
As I’ve written before, weight loss can only happen if our body uses more calorie/energy than the calorie we consume from our foods. That’s the one undisputed rule for weight loss that almost everyone knows but most struggle with.
I’ve shared a few tips on how to accelerate weight loss by intermittent fasting and other tips that include better dietary choice.
In this post, I’m going to share about the ways one can increase his/her metabolism – the deciding factor on how much calorie/energy our body uses.

Below are the 3 easy and effective tips to increase metabolism for weight loss:
1-Exercise And Be More Active
First and foremost, exercise. By exercising, our body will directly use more energy than it regularly use. While many people would like to burn more calories by exercising, not many are able to because of their health or work/life constraint.
I would like to point out that you don’t need to actually go to the gym or do hours of jogging to get the same benefit. What you can also do is to move around and be more active throughout your daily lives as it will has the same effect. This means instead of walking around in cabs, you can try to walk more.
Instead of taking the lift, you can take the stairs. Instead of watching TV, you can take a walk around the park to fill up your time. By being more active instead of sedentary, you will directly burn more calories than before.
2-Build Muscles With Weight Resistance Training
The second tip is to build more muscles with weight resistance training. Weight resistance training is always being overlooked compared to cardio exercises.
While cardio exercises can burn a lot of calories, weight resistance training has something that can help us increase our metabolism – increased muscle mass. By doing weight resistance training, our muscles will be overworked and grow, and muscles actually will burn off more calories just by being there. So it’s definitely an easy way to increase metabolism indirectly.
And have I mentioned how some muscles on men (and women) will cause your body structure to be more attractive? Yes it is =)
3- Drink Coffee
The last tip is to drink coffee. Coffee (or the caffeine inside it) is a powerful stimulant that can give us a burst of energy. But do you know it will also increase our metabolism as a direct effect?
To get the most benefit, I like to drink coffee (unsweetened of course) on an empty stomach when I’m doing intermittent fasting. The coffee will give energy for me to go on during the fasting as well as accelerate my metabolism for more fat burning. It’s definitely a great combo that you should try!
